Hey, I’m Teddie!
———————————————————————-
TLDR;
I’ve been in the field for 14 years, and work primarily with high achieving, neurocomplex adults with multiple marginalized identities and who experience distress related to relational and systemic trauma.
———————————————————————--
I am queer and affirming of all sexual and gender identities and have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ folks and non-monogamous relationships.
I am second generation Mexican and White. My family has dealt with issues around inter-racial marriage, immigration, bi-racial experiences, and internalized colonial violence. Most of my clinical experience has been working with non-White-identified people and folks from non-dominant cultures.
I am neurodivergent - AuDHD and Gifted - and am a total nerd for all things neurodiversity. I love supporting my clients in learning and supporting their neurotype and unlearning internalized ableism.
My kid is also neurodivergent (shocker!) and I really enjoy exploring with clients what affirming and values driven parenting can look like for their families.
I am a person of faith, but do not identify as religious nor do I provide faith-specific therapy. I understand the power that spirituality and faith can have in our healing process and can integrate my clients' faith beliefs in therapy if and when it is helpful.
I am trained in systems theory and my philosophical approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that suffering/distress/symptoms are a reflection of the health of our relationships and the systems within which we exist. So therapy with me focuses on the specific relationships and systems that shaped you in order to understand you and your patterns so we can change them.
———————————————————————-
My clinical special interests and years of experience are around: relational trauma, systemic/colonial trauma, emotionally fucked up parents, autism+adhd, sexuality, relational patterns and attachment needs, racialized and complex systemic trauma, attachment healing through ethical non-monogamy, eldest daughter/over-functioner stuff, coping with the fall of empire, and helping figure shit out with folks who feel like "I'm a smart, competent grown up, but for some reason the math isn't math-ing in my life" ....you know, the little things.
———————————————————————-
My clients have told me that my approach is quite different from therapists they've been to in the past and that I have a unique ability to empathize with their experiences, find the patterns and organize them (hey, autism!) and communicate them in a way that's meaningful and supportive of their growth. I think my greatest strength as a therapist is my nerdy love for the work and my genuine care for the folks I work with. As a recent client told me during their final session - "we know you care! we can feel it!".
And I really, really love therapy.

“After my first call with Dr. [Teddie] I knew I made the right choice. She was patient and listened to my problems. She helped me identify my goals and ways to change my perspective on problems and annoyances I faced. Strongly recommend.”
“She’s a down to earth and really beautiful individual herself and I’m sure has helped many others like me. She understand the time to listen and the time to speak. I wouldn’t go to anyone else.”
“I’ll be honest I was a little skeptical about doing therapy today online versus in person... but Dr [Teddie] is wonderful. She is kind, compassionate, understanding, flexible, professional and truly wants to help people. She has gone above and beyond and that’s rare to find. I highly highly recommend her.”
