Hey, I’m Teddie!
And I really, really love therapy.
I’ve been in the field for 10+ years, and am here to serve California residents via telehealth.
I pride myself on providing a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe to make the changes you would like to make. I am affirming of all sexual and gender identities and have experience working with LGBTQ+ folks and non-monogamous relationships. I identify as a queer therapist and I am very passionate about affirming and supporting LGBTQ individuals, partnerships, and families.
I am Mexican and White, and my family has dealt with issues around inter-racial marriage, first generation American identities, bi-racial identities, and internalized racism. Most of my experience has been working with non-White-identified people and folks from non-dominant cultures. I have had the privilege of walking with clients through issues around intergenerational trauma, racial trauma, systemic racism/oppression, and other forms of violence towards minority identities.
I am neurodivergent - Autistic and Gifted - and am a total nerd for all things neurodiversity. I love supporting my clients in learning and supporting their neurotype and unlearning internalized ableism. My kid is also neurodivergent (shocker!) and I really enjoy exploring with clients what affirming and values driven parenting can look like for their families.
I am a person of faith, but do not identify as religious nor do I provide faith-specific therapy. I understand the power that spirituality and faith can have in our healing process and can integrate my clients' faith beliefs in therapy if and when it is helpful.
I am mom and I really love supporting women/mothers/parents through the beautiful (and sometimes complicated!) challenges of raising children.
